A BRIGHT NEW YEAR

Is anyone else ready for snowflakes and paper whites? Don't get me wrong, I LOVE holiday decor and lean towards rich colors and abundant greenery, but come mid January I'm ready for crisp whites and simple amaryllis.

BACK TO SCHOOL MAKEOVER

What better time than now to do a back to school makeover. This family was featured earlier this year when I talked about incorporating beauty into your home even when you have kids! But now I want to show you that a homeschooling room doesn't have to be one dimensional. This couple wanted their school room to be beautiful, functional, and not just for the kids. Let's see if we accomplished that.

SNAPSHOTS

A few of you have asked what I have been up to these days. Life. Design. A year in Kansas. In a nutshell it's been good. I am growing and stretching and realize I have a lot to learn. I haven't blogged in awhile because well, most of my projects are in process. Maybe this fall or winter I'll have more to share, but in the meantime...here is what's been happening.

BEAUTY WITH KIDS

It's hard to believe that I've known this family less than a year. Last February they contacted me with a desire to revamp their main floor living areas and we quickly became friends. Let's take a gander at how things looked early last year.

THE TALKING ROOM

Speaking of fireplaces, one of my favorite families (you might remember their living room transformation - those blue chairs!) asked me to help transform their Talking Room. BLUE SUEDE (well...velvet) CHAIRS

I know I say this about every project, but this one has been a lot of fun. My client was ready for a sophisticated yet comfy look for their formal living room. A place to host friends for coffee, yet comfortably lounge with their own family of six. Oh and she was up for anything...my kind of client.

OPEN FOR DECORATING

Like most of my clients, Heather and her husband, Ross, took time to chip away at their purchases and made sure they were pulling the trigger on just the right pieces. Wise souls, I say.

FARMHOUSE FUN

This fall has been a bit unpredictable, but the one thing I've known for sure is that I wanted to get my little decorator hands on my Aunt Jean's farmhouse. My folks had visited my aunt in August and casually mentioned that she seemed ready for a change in her living room. After seeing photos of the space, I immediately started planning the update.

THE LEGACY ROOM

Well, our next stop is my folks dining room. When I arrived (back in May) my parents had recently swapped out carpet for hardwood floors. The results were wonderful and the room only needed a few minor tweaks. Here is my dad showing off the new floors. Or is he just showing off? Love that guy! :)
